Men’s Team Update
May 30, 2022
Earlier this month the men’s team completed Essor Breton, a five-day stage race in the Bretagne region of France.
Stage 1 proved to be a tough day on the bike for most the of the team. There were crashes and numerous learning experiences for a roster new to European racing. However, Thomas and Nathan impressed and improved every day for the rest of the tour.
The highlight of the race was Thomas’ 8th place on the final stage. Joe Holmes directed the team throughout the race.

After the team finished Essor Breton, they stayed in an Airbnb for 10 days. Joe led a concentrated team training block before the next race. The team was able to put together a solid 10-day block, focusing on race fitness and team dynamics.
Some basic metrics from the camp were:
Aidan: 633.7km, 20h, and 7,926m elevation;

The team is now currently racing at Tour de la Manche in the west of France.
In stage 1, Thomas was our top finisher in 16th. Stage 2 saw Nathan finish 27th after recovering from two bike changes. Aidan, Axel, Reid, and Nicholas all contributed very well to both team results.
After Tour de la Manche finishes, the team will take part in Tour de Loire Atlantique as the last race of the trip.
Thank you so much for your continued support of our young athletes and this program. Gillian Ellsay
