The Loop Ride ~70-85km The Loop is a world class cycling path that takes in the entire city with views of the mountains, desert and the Tucson Air and Space museum. 90% of the ride will be on path and car-free. A nice, flat warm up for the riding to come and an introduction to Tucson.

Big Desert Base Ride ~90-120km, 1200m elevation This ride will head south through the Colossal Caves State Park and into the solitude of the big desert for a moderately hilly group ride to build endurance

Gates Pass Endurance Ride -120-150km, 1000m elevation A mostly flat endurance ride with the stunning climb up Gates Pass in the Saguaro National Park as a highlight

Days 5 & 6

Saguaro National Park ~50-70km 300-600m elevation We will make our way to Saguaro Park and ride the legendary park loop featuring 12km of short rollercoaster hills on twisting roads through the cacti forest. The loop is one way with limited traffic at 30kmh for safe and fun group riding. It is so much fun we will do multiple laps. Lunch at the park and an easier day preparing for the big climb tomorrow.

Mt Lemmon Climb ~100km, 2200m elevation Today we take on the longest paved climb in continental North America. Almost 40km of manageable 4-6% gradient taking you up fom the desert and into the conifer forests at over 8000ft of elevation. A stop at the Cookie Cabin at the top is a must before enjoying a long, lazy descent home for lunch. This climb is very manageable with its consistent shallower gradients but shorter climbing options will be available. Dinner out at El Charro to celebrate the achievement

Day 7 : Depart Day Breakfast and departure. Transport to PHX shuttle available as needed.
