TaG Cycling & Big Mountain

CROATIA 2025

Just announced! September 26 - October 3, 2025

Unpack your bags and join us on a private motor yacht for a week of island bliss by road bike and boat as we explore Croatia’s Southern Dalmatia islands, one of Europe’s most beautiful destinations.

Sip a beer at a rustic bar, stroll winding streets of historic harbor towns and dive into a private dinner at a small restaurant or enjoy meals on the boat prepared by our onboard chef. You’ll also learn about the deep history of the region by our knowledgeable local guides, anchor in a quiet cove for a swim off the deck, get a massage from our on-board masseuse and sail off to the next island to do it all over again. The road surfaces are excellent and each day features two ride distances.

Launched in 2009, the MS San Snova is an entirely oak ship that stands at 101-feet long. All 13 spacious cabins (11 above deck, 2 below deck) feature air conditioning, private bathroom with shower and hair dryer. Cabins are 30 to 45 square feet in size. Two-person beds are 200 X 140 cm (slightly bigger than a double size), single beds are 200 X 80 cm.

ITINERARY

The below is a general outline. Cycleventures reserves the right to make alternations and substitutions to the itinerary as weather or terrain conditions dictate or as necessary to improve the trip quality or to accommodate the comfort, convenience, and well-being of our guests.

  • Morning arrival to Split airport to transfer five kilometers to the harbor town of Trogir. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, Trogir’s beautiful preserved old town lies on a small island. After check-in on the motor yacht at 12:00 PM we sail to Brac Island stopping for a swim off the boat along the way. This evening we’ll set out for a warm-up ride and stay in the quiet harbor in the town of Milna.

Distance: 16 or 35 km, 656 feet (200m) elevation gain.

  • This morning we set out after breakfast on Brac Island, the third largest island in the Dalmatia. After climbing to the island’s highest peak, Vidova gora (780m), the highest island point in the Adriatic, it’s all downhill to the town of Bol where we’ll have a quick dip at Zlatni Rat beach which is often rated as one of the top beaches in Europe. This afternoon we set sail for the three hour cruise to Vis Island, with a swim and SUP from the boat on route.

Distance: 56 or 82 km, 3280 ft (1000m) elevation gain.

  • Wake up in the beautiful town of Vis. The farthest inhabited island off the Croatian mainland, we’ll ride a scenic loop on this remote and beautiful island that features views of azure waters, vineyards, great swimming spots and quiet roads. It is said that Napoleon’s eventual demise began on Vis Island as he lost an important battle with the British on its shores. After lunch at a local restaurant we’ll board the ship for the four-hour crossing to Korcula Island.

Distance: 32 or 64 km, 2188 feet (667m) elevation gain.

  • Today we discover the island of Korcula with its nearly perfect asphalt, its fragrant air, vineyards and cypress gardens. The calmness of this remote island has made it as one of the most beautiful in all of the Dalmatia. Our ride takes us to the Blato village, across Pupnat Bay with lunch at a local restaurant and then down to Korcula town where we’ll walk through its narrow alleys. Tonight we sleep at the port in Korcula.

Distance: 62 or 100 km, 3280 ft (1000m) elevation gain.

  • We’ll enjoy breakfast this morning as we sail to the village of Sucuraj on the southern tip of Hvar Island. Today’s ride is superb with rolling hills and swooping corners through sleepy towns. We’ll cycle to Stari Grad for lunch. UNESCO designated Stari Grad is one of the oldest towns in Europe, as Greek settlers arrived in 384 BC. Those looking for a challenge can head over to Hvar town and back for 110 km total.

Distance: 50 or 70 km, 1624 ft (495m) elevation gain.

  • This morning we sail to the mainland and the town of Omis, located on the mainland. Today’s ride takes us up the Cetina river valley through deciduous forests and little villages with an amazing final descent back to the ship. This afternoon we sail to Split with its famous palace of the Roman Caesar Diocletian, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We’ll have time to explore this amazing city this afternoon and enjoy dinner in the old town.

Distance: 46 km, 2952 ft (900m) elevation gain.

  • A short 1.5 hour sail brings us to the village of Rogac on little Sholta Island, known as honey island. We’ll enjoy a short ride to Maslinca for coffee and gelato before meeting the island’s main beekeeper for an informative and entertaining visit to his farm. We’ll enjoy lunch and a swim and SUP while anchored in a perfect bay on the island’s shore before our last sail back to Trogir. This afternoon can be spent doing some last-minute shopping, relaxing and getting ready for tomorrow’s departure.

Distance: 22 or 35 km, 616 ft (188m) elevation gain.

  • After our last breakfast this morning we’ll disembark from the ship at 9:00 AM for flights home, or to continue travels on your own. Bon voyage!
