Lesley Tomlinson
TaG FOUNDER - ROAD & MTB OLYMPIAN
Olympian (selected for both road and mountain bike), a multiple time 24 hour World Champion, and has medals from the Commonwealth Games, Pan American Games, World Cup, and countless other elite races. She has represented Canada on the road and mountain bikes, and been part of 13 World Championship teams. Her palmares originated in distance running and extend to Xterra triathlon World Championship medals. All this while gaining a degree in Business and Economics with a minor in Kinesiology, and later juggling a corporate job. But Lesley's career is far from defined by her success on the bike.
A champion of cycling, while racing herself, Lesley developed a group of young athletes who aspired to elite level cycling. Several of these mentees went on to secure National Titles and represent Canada at World Championships. She later spent 5 years as a director on the board of the Canadian Cycling Association learning the back rooms of the sport.
Off the bike, Lesley spends time each year as a television analyst and commentator on cycling events, including for CBC at the Athens, London, Rio and Tokyo Olympic Games. Her combination of expertise and charisma makes her a natural in front of the camera, and she has announced all over the world from World Championships to grass roots racing. She was also selected as a torch bearer for the Vancouver Olympic relay in 2010.
Shortly after retiring as a professional athlete, a group of women Lesley had known in school asked her for help learning to ride their bikes properly. From this, TaG Cycling was born. Partnering with Canadian Olympians Gina Grain (track) and Chrissy De Vall (mountain bike), Lesley founded this cycling training company.
Through TaG, Lesley helps people from any walk of life achieve their cycling goals. From teaching the basics to providing pathways for youth into professional sports, Lesley is Canadian cycling's greatest advocate.
