Gina Grain
TaG FOUNDER - TRACK CYCLING OLYMPIAN
A lifelong athlete, Gina had Olympic dreams from an early age. When a knee injury ended her soccer career, she set her sights on cycling and pursued it relentlessly all the way to the top.
Starting on the mountain bike, she was quickly identified as a road talent, and from there a sprinter. She was signed to a professional road team where, over the next four years, she accumulated consistent victories and podiums. During this time, she was crowned Canadian National Champion and won the US Pro Tour Championships.
That same year, Gina tried track racing for the first time. Within four months, she became a National Champion on the track and set her sights on track cycling at the next Olympic Games. From this point on, she won 7 Canadian National Championship titles on the road and track, a silver medal at the 2006 Track World Championships, 2 Pan American Championship medals on the road and track, and had 2 4th place finishes at the 2006 Commonwealth Games. Finally, Gina achieved her Olympic dreams competing for Team Canada on the track at Beijing 2008.
During her athletic career, Gina obtained a Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology and worked as an exercise therapist, Kinesiologist and personal trainer. Now a NSCA Strength and Conditioning Coach and BCAK Kinesiologist, Gina co-founded TaG Cycling with Lesley, and shares all of her secret training tips and methods with her clients. She is able to use her specific combination of skills to specialize in strength training for cycling. Gina’s passion, smile and commitment to excellence are infectious and inspire countless riders to their best performances.
