Immerse yourself in the culture of this stunning part of Northern Italy bordering Austria and Switzerland. Riding highlights include the UNESCO Heritage Dolomites ‘Sella Ronda’ on their car-free day, the epic ‘Passo dello Stelvio’ and picturesque rides along the ‘Etsch River’ through vineyards and quaint villages.
A week long action packed program brings you on six unforgettable rides, with an average daily distance of 95km. The rides are guided by an experienced ride leader and are fully supported with an accompanying vehicle providing assistance and refueling. Lunches are provided on route in Restaurants or by catering.

Accommodations will be in two different luxury hotels,  3 nights in Wolkenstein, and following 4 nights in Naturns. Both of these locations spoil the guests with their artisan culinary creations for breakfast and dinner and allow you to relax in their extensive wellness/spa area.

Experience more of the local culture and history by joining one of the ‘after ride’ activities, which include wine-tasting, a historic city walk, and wood carving workshop visits.

Arrival day is Friday June 12, where a shuttle will pick you and your bike up from Milan’s international airport (Malpensa) late morning, which works with Lufthansa/Air Canada’s flight connection (Via Frankfurt) from Vancouver. On Friday June 19 transport back to the airport in the morning is available for those returning that day.

Cost of the trip is EUR 2,580 pp double occupancy Add EUR 350 for single occupancy. Final payment due Dec 15, 2019

Schedule and Program

  • Day 1 Friday, June 12!

Arrival Milano Malpensa Airport. Lunch in Bergamo’s Citta Alta. Check-in at Hotel in Selva di Val Gardena.  Dinner at hotel

  • Day 2 Saturday, June 13!

Ride from hotel, Route: Sella Ronda 

A classic Dolomites route over four mountain passes: Passo Gardena, Passo Campolongo, Passo Pordoi and Passo Selva. 61.5km , 2030m climbing

Lunch option: Catered on route, or in Restaurant after ride. ‘Wellness time’ in hotel or small hike, Dinner at hotel

  • Day 3 Sunday, June 14!

Shuttle to Corvara (30min), Ride: Passo Giau Loop

The second part of the ‘Maratona dles Dolomites’ Route leads from Corvara over the Passo Falzarego to Cortina, then over the Passo di Gau, Colle Santa Lucia and the Campolongo back. 86.3km / 2620m  climbing

Lunch on route,  Shuttle back to hotel followed by ‘Wellness time’.  Visit to wood carving workshop, Dinner at hotel

  • Day 4 Monday, June 15!

Ride from hotel, Route: Selva to Naturno

Leaving the Dolomites over the Seiser Alm and Voels to Bolzano. Then along the river Etsch cycling route to Merano and Naturns.  92.5km , 810m climbing

Lunch on route, Check-in at Hotel in Selva di Val Gardena. ‘Wellness time’ followed by dinner at hotel

  • Day 5 Tuesday, June 16!

Ride from hotel, Route: Passo di Stelvio Loop

The epic Stelvio, classic route from Prad with a warm up through the beautiful Val Venosta. After the Stelvio a descent on the Umbrail Pass route and through the picturesque Val Munstair. 134km , 2650m climbing

Lunch on route.  ‘Wellness time’ followed by winetasting. Dinner at hotel

  • Day 6 Wednesday, June 17

Ride from hotel, Route: Gampen-, Mendelpass Loop

These two passes are lower then some of the alpine ones surrounding the area, but by no means less spectacular. Return on a more flat cycle route around Kalterersee and along river Etsch through vineyards, apple orchards and past medivial castles. 130km , 1940m climbing

Lunch on route : Restaurant in Kaltern.  ‘Wellness time’ followed by brewery visit ‘Forst’.  Dinner at hotel

  • Day 7 Thursday, June 18!

Ride from hotel, Route: Timmelsjoch

Another epic climb, not as well known as the Stelvio but as spectacular, up through the Passeier valley up towards the Otztal mountains. 114km , 2630m climbing

Lunch on route. ‘Wellness time’ followed by dinner at hotel. Visit to ‘Old Town Merano’

  • Day 8 Friday, June 19!

Check out of hotel.  Transport back to Milano Malpensa Airport
